I feel like there’s a part of these two that isn’t talked about as much. Tony believed for a long time that his father did not love him, however he always talked about Cap. How he made his shield how he saved the world. Tony grew up thinking he loved Cap more than his own son and so when he meets him he can’t help but feel in competition to prove he deserved his dad’s love. And not only did Cap not tell him that Bucky killed his dad and mom he felt personally betrayed. The man his father loved talking about didn’t tell the truth about his death to his son and that is why his reaction was so deep and their partnership whether friends or more is super complicated

What a lot of Cap fans miss is that Tony’s frustration in infinity war wasn’t just about ideology it was about trust and accountability. Back in the age of ultron, Steve argued that the Avengers should stay together and handle the threats as a united team rather than relying on outside oversight. Tony’s disagreed, but when Civil War happened, it was Steve who ultimately fractured that unity. He withheld the truth about Tony’s parents, chose Bucky over transparency, fought his own teammates at the airport, and left the Avengers divided. Only after the damage was done did he sent Tony a letter apologizing and saying he’d be there if needed. So when Tony’s says, “We needed you. As in past tense” the point isn’t that Steve was entirely wrong about the Accords. It’s that Steve asked everyone to trust his judgment, against Tony’s then helped create the very split Tony warned could leave Earth vulnerable. That’s why Tony’s reaction wasn’t supposed to be easy or instantly forgiving. From Tony’s perspective, the team had already paid the price for that division. And when Thanos arrived, Steve ultimately came back asking Tony to focus on the bigger threat anyway. If Steve’s approach had been a need to return to the man he had left behind and ask him to help save the world. The tragedy is that both men were partly right and partly wrong. But Tony’s anger wasn’t petty resentment it was the consequences of broken trust, a fractured team and seeing the exact scenario he feared unfold in real time. and Cap had the audacity to say that didn’t work out like he was in full support of Tony whenever he was trying to fix the events that led to the split especially the Accords even when he disingenuously said in the letter “ he wished they agreed on the Accords” when literally was shaming Tony for them even at the airport he said “ you did that when you signed” as if Rhodes, Vision and Nat didn’t sign with their own reason.. Cap deserved this clap back

Steve is very selfish, he doesn't agree with Tony's plan but doesn't provide a solution, he just wants to fight to the death, he's very naive, he thinks that if they fight together they can defeat the Alien. while Tony thinks about how to win, because this is war not a competition they fight to win not to die.
