As an educator please do more research on other teaching philosophies not just Montessori. It teaches indepence but with a fixed objective. Therefore not leaving room for collaboration, open ended discoveries, ideas, outcomes and can be very limiting. Something like Reggio Emilia approach is really beautiful as it believes there’s is no one right way. Kids are encouraged to discover experiment and create meaning for themselves with the guidance of the teacher. Materials are open ended and used to help children understand and make sense of their own questions. Something as simple as an inquiry about dinosaurs can turn into a history lesson, scientific exploration, number sense if the approach is done right but qualified educators. It also encourages difference of perspective, group collaboration, and understanding that we can have different ideas and theories and how to share and express those without believing there’s only one right way which is important in this day and age. I recommend looking outside of Montessori and trusting qualified educators to help guide this homeschool journey your on.

My mother taught me to do basic algebra, up to 12 multiplication or division, cursive, and spelling prior to starting school. I could read at a 3rd grade level In kindergarten. Keep feeding curiosity. Graduated top of my class with literally no effort & have lived a full rich life. I’m waiting to get my PhD until my kids are old enough to watch me get it so they see the effort it takes to achieve great things. Don’t even need a PhD, make plenty of money without. Doing it for the benefit my kids will receive from watching it done.
