Terrible comparison by that person, locksmiths and hvac is a bit more of a necessity and would do emergency service or whatever you want to call it after normal hours and charge more. Your tattoo is NEVER an emergency or a necessity at the end of the day. Charging extra to come in on a day you don’t normally work is ridiculous. Especially when you can simply take a different day off if available, or look at it as extra money you wouldn’t have normally made anyway because you wouldn’t be booked. New tattooers these days treat this too much like a 9-5 job. Like you’re gonna get time and a half on Sundays and pto 🤣 that’s just bad treatment to your clients in my opinion.

Good try on the analogy but for that industry it’s pretty standard. After hours costs more. But I see where you’re coming from and I agree with you.
