Someone in their 50s who worked in fashion, loves fashion and appreciates it in a way that you do as well. I have gone through so many different phases from when I was a teenager to a young adult to a young mom and now as a maturing woman.. constantly and Eb and flow but there will always be a base of who you are in the through line. I think what you're finding. Now is your through line and the rest will change throughout the years right now you're in Your young adult, who eventually will move to middle-age and your fashion will morph and change with that as well. Go easy on yourself.

I so relate to this. I spent so much time trying to fit in when I clearly didn’t and now I’m having to study myself to really know what’s “me”. I recently learned to pick 3 words that best encompass my style and every piece moving forward, I try to pick pieces that feel like at least one of those traits. I.e effortless, androgynous, modern, etc.

This is really valid. Someone once said that you can like something without having to own it, and that really flipped a switch for me. Liking something does not necessarily mean it’s going to fit into your wardrobe or lifestyle or make you feel good. It’s better to have a collection of pieces that go well together and feels like a true representation of you and your values. This will inherently make you feel more comfortable when wearing them and make getting dressed less daunting.

Give yourself permission to experiment. Try stuff on that you normally wouldn't gravitate towards. You might discover that something suits you that you didn't expect. Also, while forever pieces are awesome- sometimes they come in to our lives organically and it's through living our lives in them that gives it meaning.

Highly recommend the Indyx app! You can upload your clothes and track what you’re actually wearing, save outfits that you’re drawn to, save selfies tied to each outfit. It’s been really helpful as I’ve been redoing my wardrobe
