He embodied all the traits Skeletor should have. He’s sassy, hilarious, egotistical, selfish, childish, scary, maniacal, power-hungry. He loves being evil. I feel Leto channeled the dark, theatrical performance of Frank Langella (1987 movie), but added the camp and fun of Alan Oppenheimer (Filmation cartoon), with a dash of Brian Dobson (200x cartoon).

Jared Leto could have been replaced by Steve Buscemi and I would not have known the difference. He was unidentifiable from looks to voice. What made the performance of this character so great in my opinion was the writing and direction.
