People want to blindly believe an official narrative because it’s too scary for them to come to terms with knowing that, like you said, sometimes the police get it wrong or worse—are directly involved in a cover up (Karen Read trial for example). Corruption and abuse of power is the backbone of our justice system.

My daughter’s ex punched her in the jaw so hard he knocked her out. Right in front of the two youngest kids. She has no memory of it. When the youngest contacted me the next morning and said “daddy beat mommy up” I immediately went up to her house and took her to the er. She was sitting on the bed , jaw swollen throwing up in a bowl. She said he told her that he punched her to save her life cuz she got the gun and was going to shoot herself. I called bullshit right away. She had a concussion and he could have killed her with that hard of a punch. She has ALWAYS been terrified of death I know he hit her in a drunken jealous rage!
