There is technology to prevent surface rail from catching bike wheels, San Francisco has known about it for decades, and SFMTA has not added it.

this intersection specifically is so dangerous for bikes and scooters. not crazy but I walk past it daily and Ive seen so many bikes fall right at the crosswalk from the tracks and street damage

I almost got hit by a bus bc my bike tire got stuck in the train tracks, totally my fault but sometimes you just can’t tell how close you are to buses/trucks either

Market Street is dangerous with so many holes and gaps. Any rider with little experience should be extremely careful. The driver should not have followed so closely. This could have been a minor injury instead. But mostly I put the blame on the city for poorly maintaining that street.

The first thing you learn when you first bike in SF is to cross the tracks at a sharp angle. Too many people get stuck and fall. Why can’t these tracks be made safer?

tbh she should've stayed in the bike lane it's almost common knowledge not to ride around the tracks and the driver should've been paying attention to the road and not being so close to the scooter driver

My deepest condolences for the Family one thing with all the respect I drive a construction truck most of the time in SF and trust me it has been people running across while we have green light also we try to be the most careful at all times just today on 8th and Howard I had a green arrow and this gentleman on a scooter went on green arrows for me and flick me off even though I had green so if you start to say that this driver needs to go to jail please let the investigators do their job and then you guys bark all you want .
