There is nothing quite like the smell of fresh bread baking while it’s freezing outside. This Winter Date & Pecan Ring is soft, pillowy, loaded with sweet dates and toasted pecans, and practically begs to be paired with a hot cup of coffee or tea. Trust me, your kitchen will smell incredible. ✨ Ingredients & Steps Below ✨ Golden Pecan & Date Ring Recipe & Pictures Credits: @ataleofsauceandspice Ingredients: 3 cups flour ½ teaspoon cinnamon powder 1 heaped teaspoon yeast 2 tablespoons sugar ½ teaspoon salt Mix together the dry ingredients. In a jug combine: 1 egg ¾ cup warm milk Make a soft shaggy dough with this milk mixture. Once the dough come together transfer the dough to a clean work surface, stretch it out and add 50g softened butter in the centre. Fold the dough from the sides, stretch, fold and knead the dough until you get a nice soft elastic dough. Cover and let it rest for 1 hour/until doubled in size. Divide into 2 pieces then roll the dough into a big rectangle. Spread on softened butter, dust with cinnamon powder. Add a generous amount of chopped dates and pecan nuts. Shape both the pieces as shown in the reel above. Cover and let it proof for another 20-30 minutes. Brush with egg (I mixed in a bit of sugar into my egg for better browning) Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Decorate as desired once cooled. I drizzled some chocolate ganache, sprinkled with desiccated coconut. Enjoy. Note: keep a bit of extra warm milk add more if the prepared mixture feels dry. This could happen when the flour is measured differently. But a little more milk will fix the issue. If you measured your flour less you might require less of the milk mixture so add gradually. Save this post for your next cozy baking day! Which warm drink are you pairing this with? #teatime #winter #comfortfood #coffee #bread
