When administering psychiatric medication’s psychiatrist actually must monitor thyroid levels because of the side effects of those medication’s. For example, lithium thyroid levels have to be checked every six months. So yes, she should know something about the thyroid. 🤦♀️

I’m flabbergasted this is actually a psychiatrist testifying - I worked the first 9 years of my career in psych. First adolescence (residential/RTC) and later adults (inpatient AND outpatient). LAB WORK IS ALWAYS DONE - CBC and CMP and quite often thyroid: TSH, T3 and T4 if symptoms are presenting. I hope anyone who accidentally books and appointment or chooses to go to an inpatient where this woman is the head psychiatrist RUNS out of there and away from her. ALSO, MANY “scales”/tests for depression, withdrawal symptoms, mental status exams and even dementia exams are given to rule out differential diagnoses. This woman and her nonchalance and the way she is literally reporting how she diagnoses and treats people is very much based on judgement and little else. SHE is what’s wrong with psychiatry and mental health field - I truly hope she’s the exception - I certainly never worked w/ any psychiatrists who practiced in such a negligent manner
