Every owner could spend like the Dodgers, but they won’t because they want 10X profits instead of 3x profits

MLB has 16 different World Series champions since 2000.
NFL and NHL have 14 different champs and the NBA has 13. what do those 3 have that MLB doesn't. they also have one extra year

The problem is the greedy owners don’t wanna spend and pay the players. Remember all of this was ok when the Yankees was doing this years ago. But now all of a sudden, since the Dodgers is doing it, we need a salary cap.

Salary caps have made every league better. It's that simple. I'm perfectly fine with a floor too.

Hard to side with players here when literally every single league in America has a salary cap and works fine. All of them. Get with the program. They need to put out what they’re want in exchange for a cap and then I can be on their side. Just saying NO NO NO is not a good answer. It’s give and take in a CBA negotiation

Every other sport has thrived with salary caps and floors. Players included. Shut it down for as longs as it takes.

There’s nuance to this that you didn’t mention in this video. The TV deals are one of the biggest factors to this. My team the Reds have had a different broadcast 4 years in a row because companies keep going under. Meanwhile the Dodgers have a 1.3 billion tv deal and the Yankees have their own channel.

The Dodgers and Angels are in the exact same fan/media market. Both are owned by billionaires/billionaire ownership groups. One wants to win and acts accordingly, one doesn’t care at all. How will a salary cap/floor remedy this?

also stop allowing deferrals. if u sign players to over a billion dollars then u should have to pay them in the years of the contract.

Brewers, Rays, etc spend WHAT THEY CAN and get to the playoffs regularly and regularly lose to loaded payroll teams there. ITS A SALARY CAP PROBLEM

they act like it’s easy for those small market teams though to sign free agents, how many guys are lining up to sign with the Rockies in the offseason, or the Marlins or the Pirates and all the rest of the bottom teams they stay on the bottom, big name FA aren’t looking at teams like them and go to teams that will simply pay a luxury tax to sign them, now yes the Brewers and Rays and Guardians make the plays offs but once they run into the bigger market teams and higher pay rolls they don’t really advance past them
