idk. ive seen russian fans talk about this and they say homosexuality in religion is viewed differently in russia, religious guilt's not really a thing. it's more of a "what will people think/say about me if they find out im gay" rather than a "im committing a sin for being gay"

In Russia, many people wear a cross simply because they were baptized as children, simply because it is “the right thing to do.”. Despite all this, not all Russians are religious, but they wear a cross around their neck. This does not mean that Ilya is religious.
