@anna..papalia: đŸ§‘đŸ»â€đŸ’»Positioning yourself correctly is the only way to get hired in this economy. The job market is an employer’s market. Companies are receiving 300 to 500 applications, so they don’t need to settle for anything less than their ideal candidate. 📝When there’s a lot of competition in the job market your resume needs to be perfect to stand out. đŸ˜«Which means if you’re unemployed, a job hopper or have large gaps on your resume they will not schedule you for a job interview because there are 200 other candidates with better resumes. Companies want to think that they’re hiring the best. And in order to appear that you’re the best you need to be as close to the ideal candidate as possible. 🎯The ideal candidate is: in demand, not desperate and not interested. You need to appear in demand (their competition wants to hire you) that you’re not desperate (not unemployed) and you don’t need a job (they want what they can’t have) ❌Hiring managers don’t want to hire someone who is unemployed. ✅Instead of showing that you’re unemployed, start your own LLC and say you’re consulting or put a friend’s business on your resume so that it looks like you are working. (Just make sure your friend will vouch for you if they check your references) ❌Recruiters don’t like candidates who have large employment gaps because they think you don’t need to work. ✅Limit the gaps. ❌No one wants to hire a job hopper because they think you have commitment issues. If you want to be taken seriously, stay at every job for 2 years. ✅Fix the dates on your resume. ❌Overqualified people are never hired because we think you’re going to leave this job as soon as you find a better one. ✅Take the qualifications off your resume that would get you out of the running. ✹And pro-tip- your resume is a highlight reel of your accomplishments, and you’re the best person to write it. ❌Don’t use AI because we can tell a robot wrote it. And you do not need to pay anyone to write your resume for you. 🍀For more tips on how to interview better, follow me, get my book Interviewology: The New Science of Interviewing and get all our free resume resources at TheInterviewology.com #resume #resumetips #jobsearch #jobinterivew

Some of the best workers are the ones you overlook due to being picky. rather than judging at a glance, take a risk. i dont look like much, but exceed all expectations in everything i do as long as im treated with respect. simple.

You say "start an LLC," but who's hiring a business owner who will ALSO quit as soon as their business picks up?

So you are advising people to actively lie on their resume in order to get a job and ask their friends to lie for them as well?

I love your videos and they have helped me as a law student whose also working. This however, confuses me. It seems very prejudicial against people with circumstances they can’t help and wanted to be open. If your advice was followed and they lied on their resume, and you found out, would you honestly applaud them, or would you shun it. It seems very contradictory to young people trying to find jobs.

This continues to be some of the worst and most insulting advice ever given to job seekers. And really, look at the job market and read the room. Some of the things said in this post are absolutely asinine.

My son has applied for 300 plus jobs in last 2 years. He has taken part time seasonal work because thats all he can find. This is an awfully practice.
