Um he code switches like most of us POC has to or non poc will look down on us and treat us lessor differently. This is not a negative for him. It’s sad society makes us have to do this. This is a L for you guys cause we just see that he is down to earth and just like the rest of us.

Obviously it’s his natural accent he grew up in Uganda. He’s also learned a more Americanized accent because he wants to appeal to more people and sadly a lot of people care about accents

When I speak in Spanish to my momma, she pronounces the names of stores differently than native English speakers, and when I’m speaking to her, I use her version and do not correct her because her methods don’t make her lesser. Rather, I want to show her that I am speaking for her and to talk to her

I was born and raised in nyc, my family is Dominican. When I’m in the DR, I’m speaking with a Dominican accent and my words speed up by 10x

Im from Dallas tx. I can switch accents easy depending on who I’m around. I live in MN now. I can both say y’all and also say Ope. This means nothing.

half of my friend group are immigrants. when talking to each other their natural accents thicken noticeably and when talking with the white people in my friend group they speak in a more traditionally american accent. it just happens naturally
