if they had turned it into like a 1984 anti-survaillance thing, it could have been good like how do they enforce the law? how do they stop people from getting married & then annulled (which u can do in 24 hours)? stuff like that & you could still have romcom elements like "even when we are living in a scary world, we still want to find love" kind of thing

The director said the birth control mandate was his way of talking about how masks were required during Covid but not provided by the government. I can only assume the movie is some weird right wing, purity culture, "Covid truther" slop.

Dude. When I saw the preview and they said the one night single people are allowed to have sex I thought they meant like, metaphorically. Like hey it’s Valentine’s Day no one’s going to care about it, not that it’s literally not allowed at any other time in this crazy black mirror universe.
