@ecceshnak: ¡SHNAKIVERSE! ¡SYD &OLIVIA FANDOM! Art-rock quintet Ecce Shnak and shart-rock comedic duo Syd and Olivia ¡UNLEASH! (🙄🤦🏻‍♂️😒😏😉) the second clip from our collaboration on the music video for Ecce Shnak’s new single, “Eddie, Legalistic Homeslice” from their upcoming album, “Dandy Variances.” @Syd & Olivia Like “Larry, Sleepover Friend” from Ecce Shnak’s 2019 EP “Joke Oso,” their new song is a garage-rock homage to a beloved friend of their baritone/bassist/composer Davey. “Eddie” explores big themes in great friendships: their gnarly ambivalences, their absurd misunderstandings, their inside-jokes, and their contradictory mix of irreverence with utmost care. In this clip, the Goddess Athena shows up at a party that Davey (played by Olivia 🤣🥹) has thrown with his demigod pals. She is there to deliver the “oldest prayer of friendship.” The prayer sounds like a throwaway Rivers Cuomo line: “I pray you don’t be a rat in a rat-suit! Pray you don’t be a rat in a rat-costume!” When the prayer is sung aloud by the band, Eddie, Davey, and the party erupt in riotous joy. And yeah, back to this collaboration, Ecce Shnak is overjoyed to feature two great friends as the co-stars of the music video, the preposterously funny and talented comedic duo Syd and Olivia! Our Davey was lucky to have met these two pugnaciously podcasting, thoughtfully Thespian, joke-slinging YouTube yokels on a fantastic journey to the Greek island of Crete two years ago with 10 other magnificent friends, and the rest was thirst’ory! Syd and Olivia kicked every butt possible at their roles in the Wes-Anderson-hued buddy-comedy music video masterfully directed and produced by DJay Brawner and his crew. It is our ardent hope that all fans of Ecce Shnak and Syd and Olivia alike can shart out with their hearts out to this badass collaboration!
