@startoverstrategy: You’re probably undercharging. Especially if you’re a divorced former tradwife or stay-at-home mom starting a service-based business, it can be incredibly difficult to recognize the value of skills you’ve been using for years. If something has always come naturally to you, you may assume it isn’t worth very much. But your client isn’t paying you because something is difficult for you. They’re paying you because it solves a problem for them. And pricing your service appropriately is part of taking yourself—and your business—seriously. One of the simplest places to start is by researching what other providers in your area charge for comparable services. Look at people offering similar services. What are they charging? What does their service include? What does the local market already consider reasonable? For example, professional organizers in my area are starting at around $375 even for smaller projects. That kind of research can be eye-opening when you’ve been thinking, “Who would pay me for something I already know how to do?” Your skills have value. Your time has value. And you are allowed to build a business that actually pays you. #GiveYourselfAJob #DivorcedFormerTradwife #ServiceBasedBusiness #StartABusinessAfterDivorce #StartOverStrategy
