Personality, and the fact that we have actually seen this spider-man grow up. Everyone in the first few Tom movies actually looked and acted like teenagers. Tobey suffered from the 2000s Teen problem where everyone looked 30 playing a teen. Everyone in Toms movies actually grows to where now by Brand New Day they very obviously are young adults now
