When it comes to the whole canon event thing the best way I can explain is this: Miles wasn’t meant to become spider-man but he did so the timeline has to correct itself which is why he was glitching and stuff.

In Spiderverse, Miguel said he had to follow the cannon because though he wasn't supposed to be Spider-Man, he is now so there are rules. Now where you lose me at is he's clearly basing this off of his own experience (HE'S not even a real spider,he was never bitten. that 42 spider was at least looking for a Miles, Miguel is an artificial spider true and true) which means either he's not telling the full truth about that universe he wiped and he's some type of anomaly or he has bias because when Miles broke canon everything ended up fine.
