People won’t allow you to show up as a new person and that’s the problem. It’s a miracle for someone who struggles with alcoholism to quit and they NEVER get enough credit. Sometimes circumstances are different especially if someone was harmed or verbally abused all the time. Alcohol turns you into someone you’re not. If you can’t have a drink and put it down, probably shouldn’t do it at all and that’s me preaching to the choir.
