My PPP with insomnia surrounded intrusive thoughts about giving my baby away. I felt utterly incapable of being a parent to the point that I began to spend a lot of thought about who could give my child the best life. I would dream about dropping my baby off in a car seat with unsuspecting strangers. I had completely erased this from my memory until this trial came into the spotlight. I knew I had the diagnosis back then, but she's 16 now and you forget so much. Luckily I respond well to SSRIs and those thoughts quickly disappeared. But sitting here now, I'm not sure whose thoughts those were. Psychosis is hard to grasp unless you've experienced it.

There is Bipolar 2. SSRI's or changes in generic versions can trigger mania without any previous symptoms.

You know a lot of women go through some intense stuff which is probably postpartum psychosis adjacent and they don’t know because no one checked on them. They are alone in the house with a husband who is probably incompetent or doesn’t have the knowledge based needed for a long, long list of reasons and these women will go back and back to the ER or the doctors office and they get that same crap dismissive kind of treatment. This is the standard for women women’s healthcare in this country.

Zoloft was prescribed mid October 2022 within days. It was increased from 25 mg to 50 mg. It never should’ve been increased. She should’ve been taper off of it because she was experiencing worsening side effects.

Absolutely it’s different in every patient. As someone who works in a psych ward, I find people that appear normal on the outside and do everyday things, take care of themselves, and they STILL either think people are trying to harm them, or even think they’re dating a rockstar. It genuinely blows my mind.

Dr. Jennifer Tufts completed her initial intake evaluation and first session with Lindsay Clancy on September 15, 2022, which occurred prior to Zoloft being prescribed to Clancy in mid-October 2022. The intake was before she was prescribed the Zoloft. They’re using an intake from the original telehealth appointment. Lindsay Clancy reported worsening side effects from the Zoloft. She could not sleep for almost 42 hours after starting the Zoloft.
