She knew that look. “Why?” “Nothing.” “Lena.” “Nothing.” Miu smiled. “You’re jealous.” Lena looked up. “I am not.” “You are.” “No.” Miu leaned against the desk. “Someone complimented me, didn’t they?” Lena went quiet. Miu’s smile grew. “Oh my God.” Lena frowned. “What?” “You’re actually jealous.” “I said I’m not.” “You’re sulking.” “I’m working.” “You can sulk and work at the same time.” Lena crossed her arms. “I don’t like people staring at my wife.” Miu laughed. “There it is.” Lena looked away. Miu walked closer. “Baobao.” “What?” “I’m your wife.” “I know.” “And I love you.” “I know.” “So why are you jealous?” Lena sighed. “Because you look really good.” Miu smiled. “That isn’t a reason to be jealous.” “It is to me.” Miu laughed softly. “You’re ridiculous.” “Maybe.” Lena looked at her again. “But you’re my wife.” Miu smiled. “And you’re my wife.” That seemed to satisfy her. At least for a moment. Then Miu noticed Lena hadn’t touched the lunch. “You’re going to eat, right?” “Yes.” “Promise?” “Yes.” “Actually eat it.” Lena sighed. “Yes, Bubbie.” Miu smiled. “Good.” She leaned over and gave Lena a quick kiss on the cheek. Lena’s entire expression softened. “Thank you.” “You’re welcome.” Miu turned toward the door. Lena watched her leave. Then— “Miu?” Miu turned around. “Yes?” “You’re really wearing that all day?” Miu laughed. “Yes.” Lena nodded slowly. “Okay.” Miu narrowed her eyes. “Don’t start.” Lena smiled innocently. “I didn’t say anything.” “You didn’t have to.” ⸻ Outside the office, things were getting interesting.
