to all my fellow pcos girls 🫶🏼 its been a few years since I was diagnosed with PCOS and its been a rollercoaster. I followed countless diets trying to reduce hormone spikes and manage my symptoms, the amount of breakdowns also countless 🙃 at the end of last year/ start of this year I had the worst flare up I’ve had and I think pcos + pcos stress + stress of moving abroad really took its toll and ended up with my hair thining dramatically to the point my hair extensions were sliding out of my hair and leaving bald patches. I was in so much bain from cramps to the point where the top of my legs were going numb. I will be so honest with you here, pcos isn’t going to go away. I still have flare ups, I still struggle but it can get better. Find what works for you because pcos isn’t a one size fits all situation. For me these key things helped: • routine: with meals, exercise and sleep - nailing the basics here just helped my body have a schedule it was used too and foods it was used too so there was no unexpected spikes! • skincare: basics again, i stripped back everything I used and just use one cleanser and moisturizer. • recognising spikes: these can lead to hormonal hurricanes and leave me feeling so down and overwhelmed so knowing when a spike is happening helps me rationalise my feelings! these are my top tips, i know they’re nothing groundbreaking but sometimes the basics just work 🫶🏼 #pcos #pcosproblems #pcoslife
