some of these old heads just do not like Pete because of how flashy and loud he is at times. it's not the player personality type that they associate with superstars from back in the day and they'll use any cherrypicked stat to discredit him. And I'm a firm believer Shohei is the best player on the planet but Pete is having a better single season right now. If nothing else just give them Co-MVPs and move on

I like war as a stat but it has its flaws, but if Shohei isn't pitching rn and doesn't for the rest of the year and they have similar offensive stats than PCA having historic CF defense should give him the MVP
