I hope he still holds onto my ring I gave him in high school. It was something passed down to me. The ring never fit me because it was from my grandpa, but it fit him on the same finger my Asian grandpa used to wear it. He wore it because he wasn't married to my grandma yet but wanted to be, and later they did get married. I never told him, but it surprised me because in Vietnam, when you are born, they tell you your destiny. I was also born on a full moon, and when I was born, they put me in a white dress and told me white would be very special for me, like wearing white and knowing who my soulmate was (Asian beliefs). The day he confessed to me, I was wearing white. I didn't remember until he confessed with a first kiss. Maybe it was nothing to him, but to me, it was everything my family told me was going to happen, and my destiny was to marry. I never told anyone because it's a personal family culture thing, and I live on an island where everything in the culture is different from there, but I was raised on both cultures. From then, I knew he was the one. I've never met my grandpa, but he was a soldier and did a lot of things. My grandma kept it, and nobody knew. One day, she gifted it to me because she said I looked like him, but mainly because she wanted me to marry someone, and she said I would meet the one. Because I look like him, she gave it to me. I hope he cherished it the same way I cherished him.
