@livingwiththehansens: Part of me loves seeing all the creative back-to-school traditions. The personalized backpacks, embroidered lunchboxes, matching outfits, homemade signs, balloon arches…if that’s your thing, I think it’s so special❤️ But the other part of me.. Sometimes I scroll through all of it and can’t help but feel like it’s another reminder of everything I’m not doing. Not because I don’t want to. Because there are only so many hours in a day. Between work, school pickups, dinner, laundry, homework, and trying to keep everyone alive, sometimes “back to school” looks like throwing the supplies in a Target bag and hoping nobody forgot a folder. I think social media has unintentionally turned so many milestones into performances, and it can leave the rest of us wondering if we’re falling short. So if your version of showing up is simply getting your kids dressed, fed, loved, and through the school doors… You’re doing enough. Your kids won’t remember whether their backpack had their name embroidered on it.
