The experience of metro itself is not exactly the problem (other than it shuts down pretty early). It’s the commute to the station that’s impossible. Most often you need to take a bus to get there because there are so few lines.

We just did a holiday to LA that everyone told us would be so difficult without a car… We’re Londoners, we had a great time on the metro and buses!

The big issue for me is accessibility to a station 😞 there’s simply not enough coverage like Tokyo or London has to make it viable option for those of us not able to live close to a station. With how car centric American culture and politics are, approval for funding expansions is painfully slow and pushed back against. For those who are lucky enough to live close to a station, good to see these videos as encouragement
