@netsmetsjets: Syracuse is against the incoming aquarium. It is a massive waste of money. In this area, we have bigger fish to fry, pun intended. There are numerous issues that are vastly more important than a prison for fish that could be tackled with the money that’s going towards this atrocity. #syracuse #money #aquarium #capital
Trying to make Syracuse a destination is ridiculous. They tried with destiny... Half assed it and here we are

Syracuse needs to be an attractive place to live in order to recover from rust belt decline and things like the aquarium help with that. People who contribute to the tax base want to take their kids to aquariums, zoos, and parks. the long term benefits of projects like this will help with the area's other issues. Also it's already built so rooting for it to fail doesn't make any sense.

With the crime rates who would even feel safe going to these types of places. My family and I went to the zoo in Syracuse and it was very sad. I didn’t have to drive around looking for parking as there was plenty. We didn’t have to wait in line to see the animals because no one was in front of us. I can say not a lot of people are coming out to these amazing places anymore because the crime. Especially when the aggressors get off with a slap on the wrist or just get a court date and still allowed to roam free etc. Don’t waste the tax payers money on this shit till crime is under control.

My pipes are old as hell and corroding, and they want me to pony up the money to replace the pipes from my house to the street. INSANITY!

We need attractions that people will visit more than twice. I have said for years we need an amusement park. We have open fields across from the hotel and parking lots of the mall. Make it for one of the ones that used to be around Onondaga lake long long ago. People will travel for that. The fair makes so much in 2 weeks why would we not do something similar? Unfortunately the aquarium will be costly to maintain ph balance and the animals health. It’s like the zoo. You go once in a while but once you’ve gone 2-3 times you’ve already seen it all. Plus the cost keeps rising on this aquarium which is super shady asf. I’m not negative I mean I will go once. But thinking this will bring in tourists is just not it. Mostly it will bring in school bus field trips just like the zoo.

The time to oppose the aquarium is past, it is almost finished, the money already spent. The thing to do now is give it a chance to work instead of being a jerk about it. I can’t wait to check it out!

Of course we weren’t allowed to vote on it. Mr. executive doesn’t like people to vote on things he wants that job and told he’s 65 or 70. Why do you think we’re having this nonsense with term limits? I think we can still vote him out of office when he’s up for reelection.!!

I work in Camillus and live in cicero. when going home I take 690 to Bear Street or Hiawatha boulevard, then on 81 by hiawatha. I've not been able to do that for years because of the constant Construction. the entire area around the aquarium is falling apart, yet we're spending our money on that. how about use that money to hire more people so the construction doesn't take 10 years to complete and I can actually drive home in 20 to 30 minutes instead of an hour, because I have to go into the city just to leave the city to go home now.
