You're not wrong friend, and I really hate how this whole thing is playing out. I'm sorry people are being so vile to you about it. You're brave for publicly calling it out and sticking to your expertise and the facts. Take care of yourself, please. We need more like you, and your takes on this have been keeping me sane. Sending care and support 💞

No I have sooooooo much to say. I don’t know why people are desperate to churn up conspiracy theories when there are actually a lot of facts we have

It is maddening. I believe that she was truly struggling AND that she did what she is accused of. The way people are dissecting this case is truly heinous to watch.

I think 2 things can be true. I absolutely believe she had PPD. But I also think there’s something incredibly strange about the facts and it’s ok for people to question it.

I’m not one who is saying she DIDN’T do it, because the confession still exists. What I am and will forever be pissed about is that he is walking away free and with a new life, his children deserve actual justice and had Patrick left his children in the hands of ANYONE but her who was mentally incapable of providing adequate care, he would be facing negligence charges for their deaths. I’m not mad if Lindsay is held accountable, I’m mad if she is the ONLY one held accountable, those babies deserve more justice than this. This entire conversation absolutely highlights the extreme nuance that comes with these mental conditions (I’ve faced them) and hopefully the one good that will come of this is men and people who haven’t birthed TAKING WOMEN SERIOUSLY.

I said that all of these theories take away from the real issue with the case which is PPP & PPD not getting the help they deserve! We’re finally having an actual discussion and it’s then thrown out the window ☹️

I was hoping this case would bring to light how hard it is to get psychiatrists care in Massachusetts and make it easier, and instead it’s just turning it into true crime conspiracy fanfiction.

Thank you for continuing to speak up on this in a productive way. True crime podcasts and tv shows have made way too many people feel way too comfortable with treating these things so horribly.

The longer a story remains in the news the more likely it is to be hijacked by conspiracy theorists. Every woman who points to her husband on this issue instead of keeping the focus on what everyone involved knows to have happened is doing Lindsay such a disservice.

If one of them is an evil mastermind, then people can ignore the scariest possibility of all which is that even an educated, financially stable, well supported woman isn’t immune from mental illness or being failed by the system. We are missing out on so many conversations about mental health and how to support someone dealing with mental illness and writing fanfic in TikTok comment sections instead.

I grew up during the Andrea Yates trial. I honestly feel like the public sentiment from that trial (she is evil) comes from the same place as the Lindsay Clancy trial (she did not do it and/or manipulated by others like her husband). People have a hard time believing that a woman can absolutely love her kids, but be so rocked by PPD(PPP) that they kill their kids. It is deeply uncomfortable thinking that your brain could be so sick that you do something you would never do when you are well. These two trials should highlight how lightly people take PPD (PPP) and how much more seriously we need to take it (as a society) and improve post pregnancy care (some are starting to call the 4th trimester).

I thought we were going to get somewhere with this. Maybe talk about PPD, start to change how we treat new moms, and mental health…but instead we are getting a bunch of conspiracy theories.

I saw a video yesterday of a woman stating that the judge knows the ex husband did it….. like a courtroom is where this elaborate whodunnit is taking place and everyone is in on it just waiting to point the finger at the “real killer”

“I don’t know why we can’t let a woman be sick” is such a powerful statement. Absolutely brilliant and poignant.

@thechillesst: Because no one thinks it’ll ever happen to them. But they don’t realize that they could be her one day without the support and acknowledgment of postpartum struggles. Thank you for speaking up for all women

Think about how many checks a baby has in year 1 of life. Mom gets checked at 6 weeks post and that’s just to check medical healing

People need to get offline. Pick up a true crime thriller if you need to but stop taking tiny details and turning them into something else.

Just curious, why are you loathe to defend a man? Why does gender enter the equation with justice?

Have watched you for years and have so much respect. I hear you. The reason we are all questioning her guilt is because a lot of holes have been brought up during the cross examination of these witnesses. And the critical thinkers don’t see why these holes have been brought to light if it’s just a matter of institution vs prison. That’s why it has captivated so many people.

I think it is very hard for people to wrap their heads around how a husband could care about his wife and still have this happen. It looks like he’s not on her side anymore because he is married to a different woman and has made a new family for himself, which has made him come across as uncaring for her and it raises the true crime flag of “he was trying to get her out of the way to have this new family”. That is often a pattern with men who do end up harming their wife and kids. It’s been seen in cases before so of course people think that will be the case here. The division of labor in the house wasn’t balanced, but that’s often the default regardless of these mental health issues. I think it merits a conversation about how we fail women and continuing to talk about how the division of labor is awful. We fail women in so many ways, it breaks my heart. No one really knows what happened that night except Patrick and Lindsay.
