💔 ILAJE, OKITIPUPA AND ITS ENVIRON ARE DROWNING… AND OUR PEOPLE ARE CRYING FOR HELP!🌊 What is happening in our land is beyond an ordinary flood. It is a disaster that has turned the lives of thousands of our people upside down. A very large percentage of people in have been badly affected. Homes are submerged. Businesses are destroyed. Properties that took years of sacrifice, hard work and sleepless nights to acquire are now sitting under dirty floodwater. Imagine leaving home to another state just to work and provide for your family, believing that your house and everything you have worked for is safe. Then you return home… and everything is under water 💔 For some people, the flood has taken their furniture, electronics, clothes, documents, business equipment, food and personal belongings. For others, it has taken away the only home they had. These are not just houses. These are people's lives. Behind every flooded building is a story of someone who struggled to build it. Behind every destroyed property is a family that sacrificed to acquire it. Behind every displaced person is a human being wondering, “Where do I start from again?” Our people should not have to face this alone. We urgently appeal to the Ondo State Government, Federal Government, emergency management agencies, NGOs, humanitarian organisations, philanthropists, corporate bodies and well-meaning sons and daughters of our land to come to the aid of our people. We need emergency relief now — food, clean water, shelter, medical assistance and other essential supplies. But beyond emergency relief, we need a lasting solution to the recurring flooding that continues to threaten our communities every year. When our people are suffering, we cannot look away. Ilaje is crying. Ilaje is hurting. Our people need help. 💔🌊
