I've had a childhood friend and a younger acquaintance (girl in a group chat) end up in these situations and I always felt so sad about the fact that I had no power to help them because when they're in the relationship there's nothing a friend/stranger can say to convince them because unless you're a parental figure or an older creep you can't replace the validation they get so attached to. you know this relationship will seriously harm them but they either deny it or say "it's worth it" and refuse to listen because they don't have a good ability to look forward yet and the thought of leaving is too scary
