The Qur’an actually mentions Prophet Solomon (Sulayman عليه السلام) having authority over the jinn by Allah’s permission. They worked for him and performed extraordinary tasks, but this was a miracle Allah gave Solomon—not magic or proof that Solomon was divine. Qur’an 34:12–14, 21:81–82.

Here’s what I don’t understand: I’ve heard many times that jinn have been inhabiting this planet long before humans but how can that be the case when Allah casted Adam down to earth, he took the entire land of the earth with him. So which is it? Have jinn been here or did earth really start with Adam?

Jesus spoke Aramaic, and in Aramaic/Syriac the expression “Shlama alaykh” means “Peace be upon you,” similar to the Arabic “As-salamu alaykum.” The Aramaic word “Alaha” means “God,” and it is closely related to the Arabic “Allah” and the Hebrew “Eloah/Elohim.”
