Yes, that's what they did for my sister who got food stuck in her esophagus and it cost $5000 at the hospital ridiculous for a soda and tell her to jump up and down

Sometimes people can’t swallow their own spit when food is stuck. If that’s the case don’t drink anything. It will delay you being able to get scoped to get it out

I had a piece of steak caught below my windpipe. I could breathe but it won't go down. a doctor came in and gave me a nitroglycerin pill(mainly used for heart attacks). side benefit was it opened up my food pipe and the piece of meat dropped into my stomach. saved me having surgery to remove it
