A flash of lightning revealed Samo—a married woman from the same Marri tribe, mother of several children—while she was securing tent ropes. Her scarf flew in the wind, and in that single glimpse, Tawakali fell deeply, instantly, and irrevocably in love.c3527f From that moment, he became "Mast" (ecstatic/mad in love) and "Tawakali" (one who doesn't care about the world). He abandoned his flocks, home, and normal life, wandering the hills like a vagabond, repeatedly visiting the area just to catch glimpses of Samo. He expressed his longing, pain, and devotion through beautiful poetry, calling her "Sammi" or "Samal." His love was portrayed as pure, spiritual, and respectful—not lustful or possessive.
