I think people are taking Jay Park’s “The blueprint” comment out of context. The conversation was about promotion, branding, and marketing, not who created or “owns” the music genre. So obviously, he’s not saying lngshot is the blueprint for an entire genre, especially when both groups are drawing inspiration from Black music. That said, I can understand why the wording rubbed people the wrong way. Given Jay’s past controversies and how people already feel about him, saying “we’re the blueprint” can easily add fuel to the fire and make him sound more arrogant than he probably intended. He could’ve worded it better, but the context of what he was responding to still matters.
