@jeremie.builds.ti: Titanic's rudder weighed around 100 tons — far too large to be turned by human force alone. Two steam steering engines were located directly above it on C Deck, with one kept in reserve. The ship's wheel controlled them through a hydraulic telemotor, which transmitted the command to the steering gear and ultimately turned the rudder. if she had a bigger rudder she could have steered better, lake freighters had the same term design but we're single screw and a longer rudder, not that the screws matter but the rudder could have made a difference

It’s disappointing to see the three-bladed central propellor. I get that Mark Chirnside’s research is compelling, but it’s not definitive and there has been nothing that conclusively proves this point.
