@rawpoliticss: Diogenes of Sinope was an ancient Greek philosopher and one of the most famous Cynics. He believed that people should live simply and according to nature, without being controlled by wealth, status, or social expectations. Diogenes rejected material possessions and lived in extreme poverty, famously making his home in a large ceramic jar. He was known for his sharp wit, honesty, and provocative behavior. According to legend, when Alexander the Great offered to grant him any wish, Diogenes simply asked him to move out of his sunlight. His philosophy emphasized freedom, self-sufficiency, and independence from society’s artificial desires and conventions. #alexanderthegreat #diogenesofsinope #diogen #idol #fypシ

Diogenes of Sinope, a "menace." Asking Alexander to step aside from "his sun" tells the kind of man he was. He had the opportunity to choose any material possession, position or power, but his response shocked Alexander.
