Wicked :
I get what you are saying and I am not crucifying you but merely explaining. We went into this series knowing it's between a married couple on the brink of divorce due to issues in their marriage. In this case it's issue and not issues and their issue is Kingkamol. Anything else is caused by her. This series shows how filial piety to the extreme fosters really dysfunctional family dynamics by leaning into strict authority, rigid hierarchy among the family unit, compliance, and obedience. And it does lead to enmeshment attachment.
Her mom believes she can dictate Runch's life and sees Runch as an extension of herself. It's why she believes, and is bothered that Runch married Neen, someone that is of higher status, would have everyone overlooking Runch's works and efforts, and in a sense overlooking her own hardships raising Runch. She expects Runch to put her wishes above her own, and holds the fact that she birthed and raised Runch, reminding Runch she is indebted to her, so why is she choosing Neen over her. She also doesn't see herself in the wrong and expects to never be held accountable and believe a simple sorry is enough as we are encouraged to forgive more readily to preserve family order and unity.
Runch was raised by these principles. When it's been ingrained in you your whole life to put your parents above all else, this is what you get. Anytime she attempts to set a boundary, it is framed as a cruel act of ingratitude. She's always been expected to easily forgive her mother.
We are seeing the psychological effects of how Runch was raised and how that can affect her future relationships. She wants to set her boundaries and constantly tries to but a part of her is "lenient" because there's a voice that constantly says "she's my mom, she has sacrificed so much for me." It's ingrained in her. It's why she plays such a huge role in them seeking a divorce. However, she is truly being firm in this last episode even if she hasn't cut off her mother as forcefully as others would have wanted.
