Serves: 6 Ingredients * 2–2½ lbs cube steak * Kinder’s The Blend, for seasoning the meat * 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced * 8 oz mushrooms, sliced, optional * 1 tbsp olive oil * 3½ cups low-sodium beef broth * 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce * 1 tbsp Dijon mustard * 2 cloves garlic, minced * 1 tsp onion powder * 1 tsp smoked paprika * ½ tsp black pepper For the Gravy * 4 tbsp cornstarch * 4 tbsp cold water Directions 1. Multi-cooker: Set to Sauté/Sear and add the olive oil. Regular Crock-Pot: Heat the olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. 2. Pat the cube steaks dry and season both sides generously with Kinder’s The Blend. 3. Working in batches, sear the cube steaks for 1–2 minutes per side, just until browned. Transfer to a plate. 4. Add the sliced onion and mushrooms to the same pot or skillet and sauté for 2–3 minutes. 5. Pour in the beef broth and add the Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, onion powder, smoked paprika and black pepper. Stir and scrape up all those browned bits from the bottom. 6. Regular Crock-Pot: Pour the broth mixture, onions and mushrooms into the Crock-Pot, then add the steaks. Multi-cooker: Return the steaks directly to the pot. 7. Cover and cook on LOW for 5–6 hours or HIGH for 3–4 hours, until the cube steak is fork-tender. 8. Remove the steaks. Whisk together the cornstarch and cold water until completely smooth, then stir it into the cooking liquid. 9. Multi-cooker: Switch to Sauté and simmer for a few minutes until the gravy thickens. Crock-Pot: Turn to HIGH, cover and cook for 15–30 minutes, until the gravy thickens. 10. Return the steaks to the gravy and spoon plenty over the top. Taste before adding additional salt, especially if you’re using regular beef broth. Serve over mashed potatoes or rice with all that homemade onion gravy.#fyp #recipes #dinner
