I was always under the impression that a fixed 4x4 are not ment to be put on a brake roller for single axles

You don't test 4 wheel drive cars on the brake rollers, only if your brake rollers has the facility to do so...

Following extensive technical investigations carried out with vehicle manufacturers, we have updated MOT testing advice on GOV.UK for certain Jaguar Land Rover vehicles and Volkswagen Golf R 2.0 vehicles fitted with engine code DNFF. For affected Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles, the updated advice confirms that if the vehicle judders, vibrates excessively or shows signs of transmission wind-up during a roller brake test, the test must be abandoned and the vehicle removed from the rollers. Research with the manufacturer has confirmed this behaviour may indicate a separate mechanical or drivetrain issue outside the scope of the MOT test. The updated guidance also confirms that decelerometer and gradient tests are not suitable methods for assessing parking brake performance on affected vehicles.

Yet another reason to fk mots off and just do regular work. why risk it for 54 quid. who knows what engine codes are on every car that comes in ? we dont put any awd or 4wd car on our rollers, why risk it ? decelorameter test on all of them and if the tester cannot judge if they are ok should he be testing.

Any 4x4 I done on Decelerometer. If I break the transfer box. Then it’s an expensive bill and an unhappy customer remember your liable.
