At this point, it seems to me like it would be messy to try to draw a scale on what is acceptable for generative AI within film. It should absolutely be declared from the get-go. Considering it is a fully creative industry, I think it would be unethical not to declare it.

I'm someone who loves practical effects. using AI takes that away and so many extremely talented monster makers are finding it harder to compete with AI. I'm not opposed to it, but to enhance, scenery, backgrounds, like forests, and other hard to replicate settings. monsters, definitely practical effects. gore, still better with practical effects but maybe allow enhancement with AI for maximum gore after effects. If it uses AI, yes i should be disclosed. I have to disclose if I use AI for my degree assignments (if that particular one allows it, most don't). awards.... no. that should be down to the real people who created something, not adding prompts into a computer. its just not a fair playing field with AI vs human.

it should be part of the marketing, even if it's only a line on the trailers that says "This film includes the use of Generative Ai.", as for the awards the scale is a tough on to work out ....like if it uses GEN AI for a poster in the background in one scene, I'd that on the same level as a film that uses AI to create a full character or a scene or two in a film?
