I feel like when they do fans get divided, do they want complex characters or do they want a story to enjoy or numb themselves. Dead Friend Forever, Journey to Killing You, Kinnporce and many others have not the writing with mix reaction from the fans. Playing it safe with a cast they know the fans will enjoy end up becoming the result.
