The measurements and allowance needed for a fitted shirt may not be the same as what you’d need for a relaxed kaftan or a pair of trousers. That’s why I don’t like relying blindly on old measurements, especially when I’m making something important. I’d rather take a few minutes to confirm the measurements than spend hours correcting an outfit that could have been right from the beginning. Old measurements can give you a starting point, but fresh measurements give you confidence in the fit. Because the goal isn’t just to remember your measurements.
