Trade Republic have done the same, hard to see how retail operators can give proper info on these products

I welcome investing being opened up to the masses but too many people don't have a basic understanding of what they're doing and using investing platforms like it's the paddy power app

Is this the private credit industry trying to sell their dodgey investments to retail investors?

Yep, Trumps son in law, Jared has just taken a % of revolut, through his private equity affinity.

Great detail thanks, how secure is revolute, obviously no bank guarantee from the gov if goes bust, seen a few posts on how difficult to deal with revolute customer care when transactions go a miss, I don't have confidence to leave large amounts in balance, good for small daily transfers between family

Just goes to show you how bad the private equity and credit situation is… remeber the calls for the golden age of credit before a lot of the issues arose…

Apollo and Ares ELTIFs are pretty good products but don’t kid yourself you’re investing like a billionaire. The fees are higher in order to provide the semi-liquidity and manage far more investors. ELTIF Funds are required to keep 15% minimum in cash which means the returns are lower than closed fund equivalents as well. That doesn’t mean they aren’t still good investments though. You’re right to say don’t bet everything for them. Don’t invest any money you might need back within about 8 years minimum. You have to give the funds enough time to earn you an illiquidity bonus. There’s potentially more volatility too as you eluded to. Retail investors tend to buy high and sell low. So the second there is any bad news they try to pull their money out. You need to invest in these for the long term.

Any chance you can look at opportunities for investing in heavy rare earth materials? With China & Trump both going after then for making magnets amongst other things, other than MP / RE Alloys where can a retail investor / pension fund but into this sector? Thanks.
