"There's been an attack." Illuga's blood ran cold. "Which meeting point?" "Northern Nod-Krai. The temporary headquarters where the Knights of Favonius have been gathering." Illuga froze. His mind immediately went to one person. "...Lohen." The messenger hesitated. "Lohen was there." Illuga didn't wait for anything else. He grabbed his weapon. "Squad Leader, the area is still under attack-!" "I know." Illuga ran out of the tent. "That's why I'm going." The journey felt endless. The wind tore through his silver beige hair, the burgundy strands at his nape whipping wildly behind him. His star shaped earring rattled against his ear. His scar burned from his neck down his arm. He ignored it. Nothing mattered except getting there. Please. Please be alive. Lohen had a habit of turning every dangerous situation into entertainment. Illuga could already imagine him. That arrogant smile. Those dull red eyes with their greenish outer ring. That infuriating laugh. "Relax, Captain. It's only a little war." Illuga almost laughed at the thought. Almost. Then the meeting point appeared on the horizon. Or what remained of it. The tents had collapsed. Flames consumed the surrounding streets. Bodies lay scattered across the ground. "LOHEN!" He searched frantically. "LOHEN!" Nothing. He pushed through the ruins. A knight grabbed his arm. "Squad Leader..." "Hey, are you okay?? Where is he?" As the knight's face fell, Illuga's heart sank. "Where is Lohen?" "...Over there." Illuga followed his gaze. A broken stone structure had collapsed against the side of the meeting hall. Something pale was visible beneath the rubble. His mint-gray hair.. Illuga stopped breathing. "No..." He ran. He dropped to his knees. His hands trembled as he tried to reach to him. "Lohen..." There he was. His pale skin was covered in blood. His clothes were torn. His polearm lay beside him. The beauty mark beneath his right eye was still visible.. but his eyes were closed. (how lohen died is up to you to imagine😭) Too still. Far too still. Illuga pressed two fingers against his neck. Nothing. "No." He checked again. Nothing. "No, no..." He pulled Lohen into his arms. "You can't..." Illuga stared at the face of the man who had always looked death in the eyes and laughed. "You can't be dead." His voice became smaller. "You promised me." Silence.
