the only folks who like Mackinac island are kids on field trips (valid, it's not the location it's the lack of being in school) and folks who think we need to go back to separate water fountains. everyone else visits and goes "this is a socially, fiscally, and sensory hellscape. my aunt makes better fudge. I hate it here."

I’ve lived in Michigan my entire life and have never been to Mackinac Island and never will be to Mackinac Island. It’s always felt disgusting. I remember my parents going in the summer and I would not go ever since I was a little girl. I am 46 and when my daughter went for her job through the college she was beyond eager to get out of there. Let’s not talk about the human trafficking they’re doing

also on top of all of that it is just objectively a pain in the ass to get around the island that is just true especially when it's really hot out, finding one place in Michigan that you don't like all that much does not equate to hating the entire state. also it's very interesting that they would even go with this angle considering that Mike Rogers doesn't even live here! guys from Florida! I'd rather have an opinionated michigander any day of the week compared to a fossilized Florida man
