My husband and I have been married for 18 years, I came home from work yesterday (he's retired) to him being all giggly about putting up some decorations in our room for me that I've been putting off doing. Still asks me out on dates, we watch shows together so we can discuss them. Yes we are also attracted to each other but if you aren't each others best friend I feel like a marriage would be miserable

I agree with you should like them. But I don’t see that equating to being romantic. Romance is in the eye of the beholder and what one considers romantic the other may not. Romance to me is giving you my time which I don’t have much of. But to her my time may not be romantic, she may want champagne and dancing which I don’t see as at all romantic. So romance should not be a criteria of we choose as a partner. It’s should be are they there for me, do they treat me well, do they love me, do they desire me. But romance, no way.

a saw a girl on here showing us a wine bottle with a plant on top that she got from this guy, it was a wine bottle from their second date, he saved it and washed it and put a plant in it to propagate. He ghosted her after the third date 😂 so yeah

Not only that, but it's okay to appreciate small things and gestures and all that, too. I hate this 'uh, that's literally bare minimum'-movement recently. A woman posts a video with the flowers her boyfriend got her? 'The bar is in hell, we're happy about the bare minimum'. Like what. Bro, it's just a nice fucking gesture and she's happy he thought of it, wdym bare minimum?

I met someone when I was 27 and I was giggling and was flustered around him and I was like “why wasn’t I like that around my ex’s?” And that’s when I realized I was never really attracted to my ex’s. They really liked me and I was like bet. But my parents hate my guts like actually hate me so when a guy liked me I was happy about it. I never stopped to think to think if I actually liked them until it was too late. I was so used to being mistreated that when they did things I didn’t like I just rolled my eyes. And looking back now, they probably felt like I didn’t like them bc I was always annoyed with them.
