@eyesonelenka: Elena is 9 months old and was born with completely normal, healthy eyes with a full range of movement. Overnight, at just 6 weeks old, she suddenly couldn't open her eyes anymore. We were admitted to hospital and spent two months there, including time at the Royal Children's Hospital in Melbourne, one of Australia's leading children's hospitals. Despite several MRIs, genetic testing, and many other investigations, the doctors still have no answers. We have seen Opthamologists, Neuro Opthamologists, Paediatrician Opthamologists, Optometrists. We started this account in the hope of finding someone, anywhere in the world, who has seen a case like this and might be able to help. #childrenworld #childrenhospital #sweetbaby #babyinstagram

Anastasia Beaverhausen :
It’s because of the Exotropia. She probably sees double when both eyes are open. But with only one, things look ok.

Hey!! My name is Evelyn! I have this! It’s called heteroextropia. Her case may be a bit more severe than mine! I started doing this exact thing at just 3 months old! I saw and still have double vision! I close one eye almost 80 percent of the time to see straight or to not see double vision! I’m curious to know if you brought up something along those lines and said she may see double if they would test her for what I may have? I see better when I close one eye specially when I am tired, it’s bright out side, or my head hurts! I have a paper stating all of this and I’d love to reach out to you as well as show you what I have as well! At the age of 22 I am now diagnosed but no one could ever figure it out when I was a child!!

I’m going to show your daughters case to the three ophthalmologists that I work with…I know you have seen a ton in your area but maybe a different set of eyes in a different area might make a difference with getting additional ideas for a diagnosis. i can pm with any info they give🫶🏼 I’m praying for you mama and your little princess! I work for Dr. Johnson’s, MD office in Ohio just so yk who I’m asking! You are getting out there on this app girly, just keep going. One day you’ll find out what’s going on. You guys are so strong when you shouldn’t have to be🤍

She has a squint. This could be behavioural to compensate for the squint. Have you looked at having the squint repaired and seeing how things go from there?

This may sound absolutely ridiculous but could it be a vision issue? Like she can only see well or focus with only one eye open? Is she able to see? Reaching all her other milestones?

My daughter had a visually similar condition affecting her eyes. She was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis. It took six months to more or less normalize her eye function. We are undergoing treatment at the Essen clinic in Germany.
Sending you hugs 🤗 Hang in there, girls💗🍀🌸

Tori Danby :
Her exotropia is more than likely causing double vision with both eyes open. So she closes one or the other to allow her to see only one object. I worked in peds ophthalmology. Has nobody recommended strabismus surgery?

Has an MRI been done specifically for her cranial nerves? CN III to be exact? Could it be atrophying?

Is she closing one to try and focus the other? As they look to wander when both open. I had to strengthen my eyes is patches as a child to fix a minor wall eye effect. Hope you get answers. She also has a lot of hair for her age and even in her baby videos. Maybe connected genetically to something.
