I’m completely with you. However, it’s important to remember that the movie will require more than just singing - it will require acting and (correct me if I’m wrong) but none of them are professional voice actors. So as much as I want the OGs to stay, I wouldn’t blame them for wanting to step back and let someone else take their part. That being said TROY BETTER BE HERMES I STG NO ONE ELSE COULD PLAY HIM LIKE HE DOES

Hot take: no. As much as I love original voices, most of them while being a fenomenal vocalists, are not actors. Even now some songs could be even more emotional with better voice acting. But yeah, it would be nice if a few of them stayed.

tbh, the conversation isn't about using this or using that. if we as an audience keep pushing our preferences over the creators' own vision, this becomes a fan project rather than a well structured piece of media. i love the voice actors, they're really cool, but if Jorge and his producers think a different look and feel can bring much more to the story, then we should support that. otherwise, this whole situation is just going to turn into a never ending discourse over someone else’s art
