Research has also shown that these chemicals can transfer from thermal paper onto your skin. A few simple ways to reduce unnecessary exposure: 🧾 Choose an email or text receipt when possible 🧾 Don’t let your kids play with receipts 🧾 Wash your hands after handling them, especially before eating 🧾 Avoid unnecessarily crumpling or holding receipts for long periods 🧾 Cashiers who handle receipts all day may want to consider additional ways to reduce exposure And here’s something important: “BPA-free” doesn’t automatically mean worry-free.
