Most of us aren’t living in a bubble, so I’ll assume we know why these non-black men are asking women this specific question. But it has me curious if there are black men who get insecure and ask a variation of the same question or at least thinking it: like are y’all ever in your head thinking “dang, I’d hate to find out she’s been with someone way bigger than me?” (And for the record, I am not one of these men who has ever asked a woman what race she’s been with because I’ve never cared. Women have actually been way more likely to ask me that question.)

Exactly! As a white woman, I have no qualms with a Black man asking me if I’ve been with Black men because they’re probably trying to figure out if they’re gonna have to teach me about Black culture or nuances of interracial dating. But asking if I’ve been with someone who is a race other than your own (regardless of the race)? Weird behavior.
